Mill Day September 11, 2004

We will really need your help. The only way Mill Day can be a success is if everyone pitches in and does their part.

We are once again selling 260 tickets for a Silverado Chevrolet truck; Sandstone Metallic. These tickets sell for $100.00 each, so buy yours today and please sell one to a friend or neighbor. We are also selling 300 gun tickets for $20.00 each. There are 7 guns in the raffle. Also, enclosed in this months Daily Grind (mailer) there are 10 tickets that sell for $1.00 each. If you are compelled to purchase, return your stubs and check for same to Pickwick Mill, Inc. 26421 County Rd #7, Winona, MN 55987.

Pickwick Celebrated their Sesquicentennial on June 12 & 13th. They had lots of good food, entertainment, Queen contest, and cemetery walk that was really great. Lots of hard work went into it all! The Grand Parade was on Sunday and I think there were 57 units, with Dorothy (Davis) Harem as Parade Marshall. Follow this link for parade photos.

The Sesquicentennial committee presented $500.00 checks to the Pickwick Cemetery, Bush Cemetery, Precious Blood Cemetery at LaMoille, and Pickwick Community Park.

We are still in the planning stage for mill day but there will be:

Mill Run Walk to start the day
Shadow's famous pancakes
Children's games
Lots of good food
Bake sale
Demonstrations: Pottery, Blacksmith, Spinning, etc...
Auction (Live and/or Silent)

And this is only a partial list. If you have something to donate for the auction (new items only please) we can pick up your items! Remember, we are a nonprofit organization so your donations are tax deductible.

We are still struggling with the chore of dredging the pond. Wetland is one issue, money is another, but the board is working on it!

If you haven't mailed your dues, remember dues were due on May 1, 2004 so mail today. Also, those folks in Winona county at least all have new addresses, so send us your! Thank You!
